Project Junkfood
On March 17th, 2016, I decided to start a project. (More of an experiment, actually.) My wife and I were discussing the “shelf life” of certain foods that most of us eat and/or feed our children every day. We’ve all read or heard about the huge amount of chemicals & preservatives used to make our kid’s favorite foods look, smell and taste so wonderful. So, I’ve decided to do a little test to see just what it would look like if someone ordered breakfast, lunch and dinner from McDonalds and just left them in a room forever. Or until it began to stink and their wife made them throw it out… Whichever comes first. So, today, March 17th, 2016 I went to my nearest fast food restaurant and ordered a Sausage McMuffin, hash brown, Happy Meal with a hamburger, fries and apple slices as well as a 6-piece Chicken McNugget order. I stopped by the local convenience store and picked up a Twinkie for desert. My plan is to document a full day’s junk food diet through its life and eventual demise. For the record: This is not an attack, judgement or condemnation of McDonalds, Twinkies or the people that eat their food. Heck, I've consumed more than my share of the food you see on this plate. And will likely do so in the future. It's just an interesting experiment to me.
